A suspicious fire has destroyed a home along Molasses Valley Road in Eldred Township. The fire was reported at 6:30 a.m. Fire officials report the double modular ranch style home was vacant, owned by First Niagara Bank.

The wood-frame dwelling was fully involved in flames by the time fire companies from Monroe and Carbon counties arrived on scene. One neighbor reported a vacant house trailer burned to the ground several months ago. Officials report flammable liquids may have been stored in the basement.
