A Northwestern Lehigh High School senior has been recognized as one of 10 prestigious Nordenberg Leadership Scholars.

Daneen Haas, the daughter of Eric and Brenda Haas of Orefield, plans to study chemical engineering.Ten Pennsylvania high school students, including five from the Pittsburgh area, have accepted a full-tuition scholarship to attend Pitt and participate in this unique new program, which rewards the best and brightest student leaders from high schools in Pennsylvania who have demonstrated excellent leadership skills, innovative thinking, intellectual curiosity and community involvement.The Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program, named in honor of Chancellor Emeritus Mark A. Nordenberg, includes a full-tuition scholarship for four years, three paid internships and a study abroad experience for each recipient.
