Two men were injured Friday evening when involved in a one-car crash along Catawissa Road in Walker Township.

The crash occurred about 6 p.m. as the two were traveling south just south of the intersection with Mountain Road.

The driver failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway entering the right berm impacting head-on with a tree.

The two were extricated from the wreckage by members of the New England fire company of Walker Township and the South Ward fire company of Tamaqua.

The victims were treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics and transported to area trauma centers.

State police at Frackville are investigating the crash.
