A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early today in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a woman was struck at 5:15 a.m. along Route 61 at Altamont Boulevard in West Mahanoy Township. She was struck by a Mercury Mountaineer as she attempted to cross the road.The police report indicates she sustained moderate injuries. No other details were released by troopers including the name of the woman or the driver of the vehicle.Troopers did say the investigation into the incident is continuing.
