Competitors from several counties gathered last Saturday for the annual Special Olympics Track and Field meet held at the Jim Thorpe Area High School.

Held in conjunction with the Jim Thorpe birthday celebration, athletes came from Carbon, Luzerne and Columbia-Montour chapters.Jim Thorpe cheerleaders were there to encourage competitors and high school athletes game them high-fives as they finished their events.Medals were awarded.Photo story by Bob Ford/Times News
