A Lehighton man admitted to counts of indecent assault and corruption of a minor on Thursday in Carbon County court.
Darin Keith Kemmerer Sr., 42, entered the pleas before Judge Steven R. Serfass. Kemmerer admitted having inappropriate contact with a then 11-year-old girl.The incident occurred, according to Lehighton police, during an overnight stay of a church activity on Nov. 23, 2014. The charges fall under the provisions of Megan's Law. Serfass ordered Kemmerer to undergo an evaluation by the state sexual offenders assessment board to determine if he is a sexual violent predator.Serfass noted if it is determined he is not a sexual violent predator he still faces 15 years registration as a sexual offender. If found to be a sexual violent predator he faces a lifetime registration.
