Roger and Eileen Mriss of Lehighton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married May 8, 1965, in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Lehighton by the late Rev. George J. Fenzil.

Mrs. Mriss is the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Walck) Schmalzel of Lehighton. Her husband is the son of the late Andrew and Norma (Hontz) Mriss of Lehighton.They are the parents of three children: Joseph, husband of Karen, of Milford, Delaware; Catherine, wife of Daniel Kurtz of Trumbauersville; and Kevin, husband of Cara, of Quakertown.They also have eight grandchildren: Bryan, husband of Paige of Caribou, Maine; Meghan of Delaware; Kristi of Palmerton; Emily of Lehighton; Nathan and Jenna of Trumbauersville; and Emma and Jack of Quakertown.They have two great-granddaughters: Makenzie and Lundyn of Caribou.A dinner to celebrate is planned for later in May.
