Annette Ritzko, a senior student at Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, is one of two first-place winners of the 20th Annual Israel T. and Mildred Klapper Memorial Holocaust Essay Contest. the contest is jointly sponsored by the Hazleton Jewish Community Council and the Greater Hazleton Ministerial Association. The awards were presented during the Yom Hashoa memorial service in memory of the martyrs and heroes of the Holocaust at the Agudas Israel Synagogue in Hazleton. Ritzko is the daughter of Nicholas and Marie Ritzko of Coaldale.
