A sharp exchange of words between county Commissioner Charles E. Wildoner and county Controller Allen D. Kistler took place at the Carbon County Salary Board meeting when an argument between the board and Kistler occurred.
The emotional exchange resulted from a proposal by the commissioners to eliminate the position of statistician in the controller's office.Commissioner Albert U. Koch said the reason for the proposal was that the controller informed the commissioners his office will not check the tax collectors' reports, a practice Koch said was in place for a long period of time. After the exchange, the salary board tabled action on elimination of the position.
