FENELTON, Pa. (AP) - State police have been investigating the remains of four dogs found in or near a western Pennsylvania creek, including at least two which appear to have been shot.
Nick Curzi and his son told police they found the remains while collecting cans along McGrady Hollow Road, which runs along the stream in Clearfield Township. That's about 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Butler County.
Troopers from the Butler barracks say the dogs were found Sunday and that at least two appeared to have been shot. The remains of one animal found in a bag were so decomposed, investigators aren't sure it's a dog, but believe it was. Police say another dog carcass that had been shot was found in the same area on April 3.
An animal welfare trooper was investigating.
