SCRANTON - Running out of gas was only the beginning of things to come for a Hanover Township woman.
It turns out that the vehicle was stolen, according to police.
Police say that Kaitlyn Marie Wegrzynowicz, 22, ran out of gas on Interstate 81 southbound near the Central Scranton Expressway. She flagged down a passing motorist asking for gas money, and she walked down the ramp after she got $2.
A police officer stopped at her disabled vehicle, a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and determined that it was stolen.
Wegrzynowicz then returned to the vehicle and was placed under arrest. During a search of the vehicle, police also found a small amount of marijuana.
Wegrzynowicz is charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a small amount of marijuana and driving on a suspended license.
