A week after Chelsea Michalesko's death in Jim Thorpe Borough, official details about the incident are scarce.
Jim Thorpe Police Chief Joe Schatz said a forensic investigation is ongoing and as of Monday, there was no new information to be released.
Police responded to Route 209, by Dee Zines Flowers and Gifts, around 11 p.m. March 21 for a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Michalesko, 24, of Freeland, was found deceased inside a vehicle.
She worked as a Carbon County 911 dispatcher and was a member of the Freeland Community and the Lake Harmony Ambulance Services, and the Harwood Fire Department.
An autopsy was conducted on March 23, but Carbon County coroner Bruce Nalesnik has not released a cause or manner of death, also citing the forensic investigation.
As for a timeline on an announcement, Nalesnik said, "every case is different."
A funeral service was held Saturday in Freeland.
