Mahoning Township Police stopped a vehicle at a sobriety checkpoint on Mill Road at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

The car entered the area of operations, failed to signal, performing a quick U-turn.

The driver again failed to signal making another turn into a vacant lot where it was stopped by officers.

The driver of the vehicle, Kelly Washburn, 45, of Walnutport was placed in Carbon County Prison on an outstanding probation warrant from Lehigh County.

Washburn was found in possession of LSD, marijuana, and a pipe.

He also had a DUI suspended driver license. Charges for the possession of the controlled substances, and DUI are pending the results of a blood test.
