A Monroe County man charged with 2 counts of DUI is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing next month.
At 11:15 p.m. Jan. 5, Mahoning Township Police were investigating a report of debris on state Route 443 at 443 Auto Sales when officers found a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the roadway.When they attempted to talk with the driver, he pulled away. The officers then observed the vehicle swerving and crossing over the fog line.The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Aaron Kopeinig, 37, of Kunkletown, was found under the influence of alcohol.A blood test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.27 percent.Kopeinig has been charged with 2 counts of DUI (misdemeanor), and driving on right side of roadway (summary).A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 8.
