Frank J. DiMarco, 43, a resident of Walker Township, has announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the office of Schuylkill County Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans' Court.

DiMarco is married to the former Jolene Zelinsky of Tuscarora. The couple has a son, Nicholas J., 13.He grew up in Hometown, a son of Giovanni and Olivia (Button) DiMarco, who owned a tailoring and dry cleaning business in Tamaqua.He is a 1990 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and a 1997 graduate of the Reading Police Academy, and belongs to the New England Walker Township Fire Company, the NRA,

F.O.P., Lodge No. 80, and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua.He is currently a full-time police officer in Saint Clair Borough and has been a police officer for the past 18 years. He also works as a per diem detective for the Port Carbon and Blythe Township police departments.DiMarco, who received the Schuylkill County Democratic Party nomination on March 8, said, "My mission is to serve the public in a fair and unbiased capacity with diversity and inclusion and to treat everyone equally under the law and support the fundamentals that our country is based upon life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."If elected, he said he would make changes in the office to benefit the public, including maintaining Saturday office hours "on certain days" from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 for people to obtain a marriage license who otherwise could not make it during the week due to their work schedules.He said, "I have spoken with the chief deputy sheriff and they hold 'kids first' classes on certain Saturdays during those hours, so there would be security there and the courthouse would be open at those specified times and they would be available for any assistance that would be needed."I enjoy being a public servant and love Schuylkill County and I believe I can bring honesty, trustworthiness, integrity and a personal connection to the people of Schuylkill County."See Frank DiMarco for Register of Wills Schuylkill County on Facebook and
