The Schuylkill County courthouse in Pottsville is closed today due to the weather.

"We were going to open at 10 a.m., but we listened to the forecast and talked to PennDOT and to our emergency management people. Even Route 61 and other major roads were snow covered and icy, and 61 southbound was closed for awhile, so we just decided to close down for everyone's safety," said Commissioners Chairman Frank J. Staudenmeier.Lehighton Borough trash pickup will now be Saturday, March 7 due to the weather.
