Two drug dealers given prison terms

Two drug dealers who previously pleaded guilty were sentenced to prison terms on Tuesday in Carbon County court.

President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II presided.Sold to agentJoshua Jeremy Strohl, 29, of Palmerton, was sentenced to serve 18 to 60 months in a state correctional institution on a charge possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-methamphetamine.He was arrested Aug. 15, 2014, by agents of the attorney general's office for selling meth to an undercover agent.Strohl is currently an inmate in SCI-Camp Hill, Dauphin County, serving a drug sentence previously imposed. He got a break when Nanovic ruled the two sentences would run concurrently.Strohl was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for D&A use, and supply a DNA sample. He has no credit for a time served on the sentence.Sells to CIChristy Hartman, 26, of Lehighton, was sentenced to serve three to 18 months in the county prison on a possession with intent to deliver charge. The term will be followed by 18 months of probation.Hartman was arrested on June 6, 2013, by the agents of the state attorney general's office after she sold heroin to a confidential informant in the 200 block of North Street, Jim Thorpe.Hartman admitted to a history of drug addiction and has had her probation revoked on a prior conviction. She told Nanovic with the revocation and awaiting on the current charge she has been in prison for about 20 months.She said she is getting drug counseling and is taking advantage of any programs made available to her at the prison.Nanovic also ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, supply a DNA sample, pay court costs of about $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee when released on parole.She was given credit for 56 days spent in jail on the charge.
