An oil burner malfunction in the 800 block of East Patterson Street (Route 209), Lansford, caused fire concerns this morning.

Volunteers from fire departments in Lansford, Summit Hill and Coaldale responded, as did the Lansford Police Department.The fire departments were dispatched at about 5:45 a.m. when thick smoke was seen coming from a chimney and smoke began seeping into an attached home/Nobody was home where the fire occurred.The incident was declared under control within a few minutes of firefighters arriving at the scene.
