State police at Swiftwater are investigating a report of a sexual assault at East Stroudsburg University.

According to police, a female student reported being assaulted by a male student between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Jan. 24. The victim and suspect knew each other and it wasn't a random act of violence, police said.University spokeswoman Brenda Friday said the alleged assault happened at University Ridge Apartments.
