Elmer Soule, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, is celebrating his 94th birthday.

Born on a farm in Eureka Township, Michigan, on Jan. 26, 1921, he was one of nine children.He served in the Army during World War II. After being discharged in 1946, he married Frances, who died in 2004. He has two daughters and two grandsons.He lived and worked in Greenville, Michigan, until he was 91 years old, at which time he moved to Pennsylvania to live with his eldest daughter full time. During the years in Greenville, he was employed with Gibson Refrigerator until retiring at 62.Among his many interests were hunting, fishing, and looking for mushrooms in the spring. Elmer was an avid golfer and bowler for many years. Some of his best memories include going to the Eiffel Tower and visiting Italy and seeing Vatican City.He loves dogs and still enjoys playing with JoJo and Bosley, two rescue dogs who routinely visit him at Heritage Hill.
