A nine-month pregnant 25-year-old woman was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon in the Walmart parking lot in Mahoning Township.

The incident occurred at 3:13 p.m. as the woman was walking in the lot carrying a 2-year-old child. The two were knocked to the ground. The woman was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital Trauma Center in Allentown.

There is no word on the condition of the child.

Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
