A 60-year-old Palmerton woman confronted an intruder in her home on the evening of Jan. 15.

State police at Lehighton report the intruder was William Johnson, 52. Johnson entered the Lower Smith Gap Road home, in Lower Towamensing Township, at 8:53 p.m. without the homeowner's permission. He fled after encountering her inside the home.Police charged Johnson with criminal trespass.
