State police at Fern Ridge are investigating an attempted burglary in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

The would-be burglar cut a hole in a garage door at a home on Overview Terrace at 12:20 a.m. Jan. 14, but the burglar alarm went off, police were called and the person fled, according to a reported released Saturday.
