A Summit Hill man has been cited in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Tamaqua on Jan. 8.
Police were dispatched to 317 Willing St. at 7:20 p.m. where they found a Ford F150 with heavy rear end damage and a silver sedan with damage to the side.The truck was at an angle and pushed up onto the curb.Witnesses said a black Chevrolet Cavalier struck the vehicles, then fled the scene. The Cavalier was found parked in the 500 block of Glenwood Avenue. It had heavy front-end damage and both front air bags had deployed.A short time later officers received a phone call from Summit Hill police, who identified the driver of the Chevrolet as Stephen Terry, 18, of 5 W. Lehigh St.After several requests from police, Terry made his way to Tamaqua to file an accident report, stating he slid on the ice, got scared and fled.He was charged with two counts each of leaving the scene of an accident and failing to immediately report an accident.
