Heather Wagner and Mindy Penberth, teachers at Panther Valley

Elementary School, recently wanted to help Army Sgt. 1st Class Charles "Chuck" Shuck with his crusade to get 3,000 copiesof the book "Gabe: The Dog Who Sniffs Out Danger," into the hands of children and military families. Shuck is a former Lansford resident and Panther Valley graduate currently living in Waynesville, Missouri. The book is written about military dog Gabe and his maneuvers while serving in Iraq. To help with the cause, Panther Valley Elementary School held a dress-down day called "Giving Back to Gabe"and raised $665 for the project.
