Carbon County Salary Board approved a number of actions in various county departments on Thursday.

Public defender• Change the salary of one full-time assistant public defender from $54,636.35 per year to $51,500 per year, effective Dec. 4.• Abolish the position of one assistant public defender at $25,750 per year, effective Dec. 4.Corrections• Establish the position of two temporary sergeants at $18.69 per hour, effective Dec. 4. The positions are excluded from the retirement plan as they are not anticipated to work 1,000 hours.Children and Youth Services• Establish the position of one county caseworker II at $15.07 per hour, effective Dec. 30.• Abolish the position of one county caseworker I at $13.67 per hour, effective Dec. 30.Parks• Change the rate of one seasonal park maintenance from $10.11 per hour, to $9.26 per hour, effective Dec. 4.
