A Nesquehoning man got more than he bargained for after arguing about a parking ticket in Tamaqua.
At 1:56 p.m. on Nov. 21, an officer was writing out a parking ticket for a maroon Nissan Pathfinder, parked illegally on West Cottage Avenue. As the officer was writing out the ticket, Antonio Serradella, 38, of 68 E. Railroad St., approached and began cursing and yelling at the officer.Serradella then entered his vehicle, spun the tires and drove west on Cottage Avenue. The officer turned right onto South Railroad Street and stopped at the intersection with Spruce Street. The railroad crossing gates were down and traffic was backed up on Spruce Street.Serradella was apparently driving around the block, as the officer next saw him traveling east on Spruce Street. He was also apparently unwilling to wait for the gates to go up and for traffic to clear, as he sped east in the westbound lane on Spruce Street, passing stopped cars and weaving in and out of traffic after turning onto South Railroad Street. The officer turned around and followed, catching up with him on Cottage Avenue, citing him for careless driving and disorderly conduct, as well as the parking ticket. To top it off a routine records check determined Serradella did not have a valid driver's license, earning him a citation for driving with a suspended license.
