Man hits sign at Nesquehoning crash scene

A McAdoo man was not injured after he crashed into a road closure sign in Nesquehoning this morning.

According to Nesquehoning Police Chief Sean Smith, David Wilson, 63, of McAdoo, driving a Dodge Avenger, was traveling east on Route 54 in the area of Ametek at 7:30 a.m., when he hit a road closed sign that was blocking the eastbound lane as a result of a one-vehicle crash that happened late Wednesday evening.At the time, PPL crews were working inside the accident scene repairing the pole that had been damaged during the crash.Smith said that Wilson claims he did not see the sign or barriers that had been set up to close the road.The road remained closed to traffic until just before 8:30 a.m.

NESQUEHONING POLICE DEPARTMENT The road closure sign lay along the westbound berm of Route 54 after it was mangled early this morning by a McAdoo man, who ran into it with his vehicle.
