PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed when his car fell onto him as he was working on the vehicle outside a northeast Philadelphia home.

Police said the 64-year-old man was under the vehicle behind a residence in the Rhawnhurst section of the city when the vehicle fell onto him shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday.

Emergency responders removed him from beneath the car and rushed him to Aria Health-Torresdale, where officials said he was pronounced dead less than a half-hour later.

The man's name hasn't been released. Police said the accident remains under investigation.
