The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling northbound on the Northeastern Extension (I-476) between the Mahoning Valley (Exit 74) and Pocono (Exit 95) interchanges, to be prepared for a single-lane traffic pattern to be in effect today through 7 a.m., Friday, Oct. 31.
Earlier today, construction crews set a single-lane pattern northbound, closing the right lane to begin paving operations on the shoulder between milepost A89.0 - A93.0. This pattern will remain in effect until Friday morning.
Motorists traveling northbound approaching the Pocono interchange should anticipate reduced speeds and slow moving or stopped traffic until the pattern is lifted. All work is weather permitting and could be delayed or canceled.
Motorists are urged to obey posted 40/55 mph speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas. Construction-zone speed limits are enforceable, and fines will be increased.
