Dispute at work leads to charges

A Tamaqua area man has been cited by Tamaqua police after an argument with a co-worker led him to make threats to her.

The victim contacted police at 10 a.m. on Oct. 1 and said Vincent Owens, 36, with addresses in Tamaqua and Reevesdale, had sent text messages to another co-worker, threatening to harm the victim. She said the two had a disagreement about several things he said to her daughter.Police were able to retrieve the texted messages which did threaten the victim with bodily harm.When contacted Owens was contrite, saying he knew what he did was wrong and the statements he made were "dumb." He noted he and the victim were now working different shifts and he didn't expect to have any more contact with her.Owens was cited for harassment.
