Jonathan Evanco, 21, of McAdoo, has been charged by McAdoo Police in connection with two thefts.
A confidential informant was working with police on July 18, setting up a meeting to buy marijuana from Evanco. After receiving the cash, Evanco told the buyer he had to meet with his dealer and would return with the weed. He took the money and never delivered.He was charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.On Sept. 29, police were contacted by Justin Nieves, who reported a gold necklace, with a Giants football team pendant, had been stolen while he was at the Adams Street Playground. The investigation led officers to the Northeast Gold and Silver store in the Churchill Mall in Hazleton, where they learned Evanco had pawned the necklace.He was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
