September 27, 1947 A long interception return for a touchdown by Carl Bisbing extends Lehighton's lead and propels them to a 20-7 victory over Summit Hill. With Lehighton leading 7-0 and the Hillers driving for the tying score, Bisbing picks off an Eric Lavagna pass and races 86 yards to the end zone. The winners, coached by George Bibighaus, also receive a one-yard touchdown run from quarterback Norm Friend and a 17-yard scoring scamper from Rabenold.
