A Tamaqua man wanted on an outstanding warrant had additional charges filed against him after a foot chase in the borough on Sept. 5.
An officer on patrol spotted James Edward Thomas Gilson, 19, in the area of the railroad tracks on South Railroad Street at 10:02 p.m. and stopped to take him into custody. Gilson ran north, crossed Broad Street and then fled into the wooded area near Pleasant Row. He was spotted a short time later near the Pine and Mauch Chunk streets intersection and again fled as soon as he saw the officer.At 12:13 a.m., Gilson was found hiding in a condemned property at 301 W. Broad St. He was arrested and arraigned before on-call District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon, on charges of criminal trespass, breaking and entering, resisting arrest and flight to avoid apprehension.Bail was set at $25,000 straight cash. Gilson was jailed in the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.
