ATLAS, Pa. (AP) - Four Pennsylvania police officers have been suspended indefinitely after authorities say they threw a firework at a patrolman from a neighboring town.
Mount Carmel Township supervisor Chairman Charles Gasperetti says he's asked state police to investigate the case.
The News Item reports (http://bit.ly/1uLThaC ) the off-duty Mount Carmel officers were traveling in a car together Sept. 1 when they allegedly tossed a firework at a Kulpmont police cruiser, sparking a chase.
Mount Carmel police Chief Brian Hollenbush says he's disappointed the force now has a black eye. The suspensions leave the township with four full-time and two part-time officers.
