Fire department personnel responded at about 10:30 a.m. today to a reported chemical spill at Savage Industries in Parryville.

An unspecified chemical entered the Lehigh Canal, according to scanner reports.

Parryville and Bowmanstown fire departments responded.

Also called to the scene was a deputy of the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency.
