A Lehighton man, already serving a state prison term, was sentenced to another after pleading guilty on Friday afternoon to new criminal counts in the county court.
Anthony Ray Hartranft, 44, pleaded guilty to one count each of defiant trespass and persistent disorderly conduct and was immediately sentence by Judge Steven R. Serfass to serve a total of 12 to 24 months in a state prison (six to 12 on each count consecutive).Hartranft is currently in the state system on a parole violation and is serving a six-month term.His defense attorney, Paul Levy, said Hartranft is facing another "hit" by the state parole board and facing a possible 13-month term.Hartranft was arrested on the charges by Franklin Township police on March 27. Police responded to 12 Fairyland Road for a report of a unwanted person. On scene they found Hartranft and was told by the homeowner, Jane Haydt, he was not allowed in the home.When told to leave he became unruly and refused to leave. He was eventually removed by police.He was intoxicated at the time.Levy said Hartranft prior record score is the highest allowed under sentencing guidelines meaning whatever he is arrested for he is facing a prison term.In addition to the jail term, Serfass ordered Hartranft to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance on D&A use, render a total of 100 hours of community service wrok when released on parole, and pay court costs of about $1,000.He was given credit for 23 days spent in jail on the charges.
