Farm equipment taken in break-in

State police at Lehighton are investigating two reported burglaries and a theft incident.

Troopers said a shed on a farm located off Boyer Farm Road in Lower Towamensing Township was entered sometime between Aug. 22-29. Removed from the shed was a disk harrow (farm equipment used to cultivate soil). The victim is a 68-year-old male.An office at the property of Frantz Brothers, Chestnut Ridge Sand Quarry, in Ross Township was entered sometime between 11 a.m. Sunday and 3:50 p.m. Monday with nothing reported taken. However, troopers said several pieces of heavy equipment at the site were damaged in the incident.Grace Ferrara, 61, of Brooklyn, New York, reported her purse was removed from a cart at the Country Junction General Store in Towamensing Township while she was shopping in the store at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. While in possession of the purse, the criminal removed a wallet and left the purse in the store. The purse was later returned to Ferrara, troopers said.
