The Pennsylvania 715 Bridge over McMichael Creek in Monroe County will be closed and detoured to allow workers to make repairs to the stone arch. The posted detour will route traffic on Camp Akiba and Sterling roads. Expect delays and use caution driving through the area.
The bridge had been restricted to a single lane controlled with stop signs since March 28 after an inspection identified deterioration to the stone arch. The 23 feet long, 23 feet wide, two-span stone arch bridge was built in 1910 and has an average daily traffic volume of 6,692 vehicles. After the repairs are made, the bridge will be restored to two-lane traffic (one lane in each direction).
