The biker who lost his life in a car-motorcycle crash Wednesday near Tamaqua has been identified.

Rush Township police say Brian C. Bittner, 38, Barnesville, was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Claremont Avenue, Route 309, Hometown, about 7:15 p.m. when he lost control, crossed over the double yellow lines, and struck the rear of a Chevrolete Impala that was driving south.

According to Sgt. Duane Frederick, Rush Township police, Bittner then struck a parked vehicle in the parking of 83 Claremont Ave., Seitz Bros Exterminating, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Frederick said the accident is still under investigation.
