State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating the theft of an air conditioner from in front of a residence at 133 Main St. in Norwegian Township.

The victim is Theresa Shermeta of Seltzer.The incident happened between 10:10-10:15 p.m. Monday.Police said the Frigidaire air conditioner was placed on the sidewalk in front of the residence to thaw out because it had been "freezing up," when a female picked it up and fled the area.
