A sweet and savory pizza

Whenever we go to Maine I usually make a pilgrimage to a number of favorite places, such as the Portland Head Light (my favorite place) and L.L. Bean's in Freeport.

I also make an annual pilgrimage to the Old Port in downtown Portland, where I always visit the Stonewall Kitchen Company Store.I make a lot of my own jams and jellies, but there are some that they offer that I just can't reproduce. They also have delicious salsas and sauces, not to mention a host of kitchen and cooking-related items.Another thing I love about this store is that they always feature samples, as well as dishes that have been prepared with their products. We were there a number of years ago and they were just taking this unusual appetizer pizza out of the oven in the back of the shop. We sampled a sliver and I was hooked. I bought two jars of Roasted Garlic Onion Jam. We had a party a short time after returning home, so of course I had to make this. It was a huge hit and I ended up making several that night. It's not only delicious, it's very easy to throw together and combines my favorite taste combination sweet and salty. You don't even have to go to Maine to buy the jam, as I've seen it locally as well.If you can't find it, you can order it online at stonewallkitchen.com.Roasted Garlic Onion Jam Pizza1 thin pizza crust (12-inch Boboli)3 tablespoons Stonewall Kitchen Roasted Garlic Onion Jam1/2 cup blue cheese (or feta, goat or any cheese)Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
