A Monroe County man was killed on Sunday when his all terrain vehicle left a county road and crashed into a utility pole.

State police at Fern Ridge identified the victim as Mark A. Parcell, 31, of Effort.According troopers Parcell was operating a 2004 Polaris northbound on Upper Ridge Drive in Chestnuthill Township, about 7:58 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, the ATV traveled off the right side of the road and collided into a utility pole.Troopers said Parcell was pronounced dead at the scene. Assisting at the scene was county coroner Bob Allen, and volunteers from the West End Fire Company and ambulance corps.
