Head Start serves children ages 3 to 5 who live in Panther Valley, Palmerton, Jim Thorpe or Lehighton school districts.Early Head Start serves children from birth to 3 years old in the same school districts as Head Start. Pregnant women are also eligible.The Coaldale Center, which serves the Panther Valley School district, has openings in both the center for Early Head Start and for the home-based program.The Lehighton center has openings only for home-based services for families in the Lehighton or Palmerton school districts.Children must meet the income guidelines. Families who receive unemployment benefits, work at a low-paying job or receive SSI are a few of those who may be eligible.
