State police at Hazleton are investigating the apparent murder - suicide of a couple at 37 Main Street in the village of Junedale. The incident was first reported 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

William Wilkinson, 44, killed his wife Denise Wilkinson, 44, before he turned a gun on himself, police said.

Troopers were summoned to the home at 10:45 p.m. for a domestic disturbance.

Police found Denise Wilkinson dead inside the Banks Township home, and William Wilkinson dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
