At 8:20 p.m. on June 22, Mahoning Township police investigated a motorcycle crash on Route 902.

A motorcycle traveling southbound and downhill on Mill Road near Leininger Drive at excessive speed when the driver, Stephen Hoffman of Lehighton, lost control. Hoffman was thrown from the bike and struck a tree. He was wearing a full helmet at the time of the crash. The helmet was badly scraped and the visor had broken off in the impact.Hoffman was flownto St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, for treatment of major injuries, police said.
