Warrant issued for man shot in Eldred Township

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a victim of an Eldred Township shooting incident.

Albert Jonathan Guzman, 22, of 156 Shenandoah Trail, Effort, is being charged with kidnapping, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, simple assault, unauthorized use of automobiles, and harassment.

Guzman was shot in his torso by Dylan Michael Frantz, 20, of 104 Silver Spring Blvd., Kunkletown, at about 3 p.m. on June 5 at a residence at 200 Sycamore Drive, Eldred Township.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled Monday for Frantz, who is facing two counts of aggravated assault. Because of the new development, the hearing for Frantz was continued until July 7 at 11:15 a.m. before District Judge Jolana Krawitz in Stroudsburg.

The affidavit says Guzman had punched Frantz in the face, which caused bleeding and a broken nose; slammed Frantz against a wall several times, and threated to burn off Frantz's tattoos with a blow torch.

Frantz's court papers state he admitted to police that he had stolen drugs and money on the previous evening from Guzman.

Guzman was hospitalized from the gunshot wound.
