A Carbon County woman was sentenced to a prison term on Thursday after pleading guilty in the county court to drug counts.

Tiffany J. Scott, 26, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of delivery of a controlled substance-heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and hindering apprehension before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.Scott was charged with the delivery count on Feb. 2 by agents of the state Attorney General's office for selling heroin to a confidential informant at her residence in Franklin Township.She was arrested for the possession count on Feb. 15 by state police at Lehighton when troopers went to the residence to serve a warrant.The hindering charge stems from a July 14, 2013, incident when Franklin Township police went to her residence with a warrant for a Steve Mika. She denied Mika was at the residence when, in fact, he was found inside the home.Nanovic noted that some of the charges occurred after he was already arrested on other criminal counts. He also noted at the time of the arrest for the possession count, police found two young children in the home and said the drugs they found were within easy reach of the children. An endangering the welfare of children charge was dropped in a plea bargain.On the delivery charge Nanovic sentenced her to serve 10 to one day less 24 months in the county prison; on the other two counts he placed her on probation for a year on each with the terms running concurrent to each other but consecutive to the jail term.She was also fined $750, ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance imposed on D&A use, attend and complete parenting classes, pay court costs, which average about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole, and supply a DNA sample. She was given credit for 104 days already spent in jail on the charges.
