Police: Luzerne fire that killed woman was arson

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — State police say a fire that claimed the life of a woman in northeastern Pennsylvania last month was deliberately set.

The (Wilkes-Barre) Times Leader (http://bit.ly/1pfojIp ) reports that police in Luzerne County said Tuesday that the determination was made after an investigation of the scene by the fire marshal's unit and a review of all of the evidence.The body of 51-year-old Laurie Merritt was found in an attic crawl space after the April 14 fire in Wilkes-Barre.
