A straight barrier may eventually be placed at the intersection of Route 248 and Club Road to close off a turning lane.

The matter was discussed at Tuesday's Lower Towamensing Township board of supervisors meeting, at which time township solicitor Jim Nanovic said the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation had contacted the township on the matter.Nanovic said PennDOT is contemplating putting a straight barrier across that portion of the highway, that would prohibit motorists traveling east along Route 248 from being able to make a left onto Club Road, while motorists coming down Club Road would no longer be allowed to make a left to head east onto Route 248.PennDOT has said it will send the township something in writing asking for input, Nanovic said."They're not looking for anything firm at this point; they're just looking for our comments on it," Nanovic said.
